Give your pet the best chance of staying healthy
Did you know that animals typically have a very high pain threshold? This means that they often suffer in silence and may not let you know when something is wrong.
It’s important for your pet to have regular health checks to make sure everything is as it should be and they are not in any pain or discomfort. We recommend that all pets should have a check-up at least once a year, although every month is best for animals younger than 6 months to allow us to monitor their growth. This also means that any problems can be spotted and corrected quickly in this crucial stage of development.
During a health check, your pet will receive lots of fuss and attention whilst we give them a thorough assessment. We’ll check their eyes, ears, teeth, coat, skin and paws as well as listening to their heart and feeling their whole body for any lumps and bumps that might indicate a problem.
If you have any questions about your pet’s health in general, or don’t understand any findings that are explained to you, please don’t hesitate to ask your vet. This is also the perfect opportunity for you to pick up useful hints and tips about various aspects of your pet’s health.
Once your pet’s examination is complete, you will be advised on the next steps to take. If your pet is fit and healthy, you can simply make an appointment for their next health check, generally in a year’s time. If we find anything that might require further investigation, you can rest assured that your pet will be in the best possible hands and only ever receive the highest standard of care from our team.
